Calculator inputs
Calculations run in your browser and no account is required. Beaver Ledger does not intentionally send or store salary, tax deducted, refund or balance estimates, RRSP amounts, donation amounts, mortgage values, or sales-tax inputs as part of normal calculator use.
Operational data
Web hosting and delivery providers may create ordinary server and security logs, such as request time, requested page, browser information, and IP address. Calculator values are not placed in page URLs or submitted to Beaver Ledger servers.
Visit counts
We count visits with a cookieless analytics tool. For each page view it records the page address without any query string, the site you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and approximate location. Your location is worked out from your IP address, which is not stored. No cookies are set, and you are not followed across other websites.
It also counts a few actions, such as following a charity’s donation link, but never the numbers you enter or your results. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, your visits are not counted.
Email reminders
If you sign up for donation reminders, we first email you a link to confirm your address. You are only added to the reminder list after you confirm. Your email address is kept by the email delivery service we use to send these emails, which may store it outside Canada. That service also keeps a record of the emails it sends, including the confirmation email.
We use your address only to send Beaver Ledger emails, mostly donation reminders. We don’t sell it or use it for anything else. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To have your address deleted, email hello@bledger.ca.
External donation links
Donation links open an organization-controlled website and may include Beaver Ledger source, referral, and organization identifiers. The third party’s privacy terms then apply. Beaver Ledger does not receive payment details or donation amounts.
